Actor, singer. Born on March 19, 1955, in West Germany, educated at Montclair State College, New Jersey. Amiable, sometimes tough screen lead. Raised in New Jersey, he spent his first post-high school years working at a chemical factory and began acting in college. Afterward he moved to New York, where he appeared on stage and in jeans commercials, and supplemented his income through work as a nightclub bartender. A relative unknown when selected to appear in the TV romantic drama series "Moonlighting", he gained immediate celebrity through his incarnation of suave, wisecracking detective David Addison. Following equally successful performances as a tough-guy cop in Die Hard and Die Hard 2, he has appeared in a number of roles, but has not regenerated the box-office appeal he enjoyed in the 80's. He was awarded an Emmy in 1987 for "Moonlighting". Married to actress Demi Moore.
